Sweet and Sour Spareribs

Annette's wonderfully saucy ribs

 3 lbs Country style boneless spareribs
  cup Brown sugar - packed
 2 tbsp cornstarch
 2 tsp dry mustard
  cup white vinegar
 1 (8-oz) can crushed pineapple, undrained
 ½ cup Ketchup
 ½ cup water
 ¼ cup finely chopped onion
 2 tbsp soy sauce

If the spareribs are fatty, arrange in a single layer in a shallow pan and roast in 425 oven for 20 to 30 minutes. Drain and discard the fat. If the ribs are lean, skip this step.

Combine all other ingredients in a sauce pan and stir to combine.
Cook over medium heat stirring frequently until the sauce thickens and boils. Remove from the heat.

Arrange the ribs in a pan and cover with half of the sauce. Bake in a 350 oven for 25 minutes.

Turn the ribs, cover with the remaining sauce and continue cooking for another 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve.

Notes:

Serve with a baked potato and your vegetable of choice.
